Terms and Conditions for works
All our quotes are as detailed as possible and the quote serves as the specification for works. Once the quote has been accepted. Any additions/alteration or variances must be agreed by the client in writing prior to being carried out.
Lessa Custom Decorating requests a non-negotiable deposit of 50% of the total amounts of the quotes work for the safety of both parties. Terms and conditions on deposits and refunds can be found under the Cancellation Policy section.
All materials related to the works contracted can be purchased by Lessa Custom Decorating Limited upon request. All materials and tools remain property of Lessa Custom Decorating Limited until they have been paid off in full by the contracting party.
Acceptance of quotes can be done in writing, text message or verbally.
VAT is charged on works by Lessa Custom Decorating Limited as a VAT registered company in the UK (company number 13467460 – VAT reg number 383436088).
Lessa Custom Decorating Limited requires any rooms/areas in which we are working to be cleared prior to the works commencing. We will take every care to ensure any items are covered/protected but we cannot take responsibility for any damage caused to items left in the room or items we have to move. Large items you require Lessa Custom Decorating Limited to move may be charged where necessary, especially relating to things of value or change under movement (e.g. Musical instruments).
Final invoices for works are sent on completion and must be settled in full within 14 days of invoice date. If there is a late payment which has not been agreed in writing, Lessa Custom Decorating Limited reserve the right to charge interest at the current ‘statutory interest’. (8% plus the Bank of England base rate for B2B customers, and 5% for B2C customers) per month or part thereof. Any cost incurred to recover monies owed will also be charged.
Cancellation Policy
Cancelling before the work has started
We ask that all cancellations or movement of work dates be made with at least 48 hours notice. You can cancel the work as long as the contract has not yet been made.
A contract is formed when either you or Lessa Custom Decorating Limited makes an offer and the other party accepts. You’ll most likely have a contract, even if it’s not in writing - for example, if you’ve:

Cancelling after the work has started
Lessa Custom Decorating Limited will only begin work that has formally been contracted, either verbally or in writing, once the 50% deposit amounts have been paid into the business account. If you put forward a cancellation request for the works after they have commenced, we have the right to request the following:
Cooling-off periods
Lessa Custom Decorating Limited does not offer cooling-off periods for custom-made home and design projects and materials, which compromises of 95% of our services.
Lessa Custom Decorating Limited does not offer cooling-off periods for emergency repairs such as emergency plumbing repairs (e.g. burst pipes, leaks, etc).
Right to cancel
Lessa Custom Decorating Limited reserves the right to terminate any contract it enters with minimal to no notice if the following scenarios apply:
Termination of contract by breach - If the client refuses to perform the contract or part of the contract (e.g. refusal to pay)
Termination of contract by abuse - Lessa Custom Decorating Limited operates under a Zero Tolerance Policy towards violence, aggression, and intimidation - either physical, verbal, or psychological - to any member of staff. No member of staff should be subjected to violent, threatening and abusive behaviour. Our employees have the right to conduct their work in a safe environment free from threatening, abusive or disrespectful behaviour.
Termination of contract by frustration or force majeure - If something happens which makes it impossible for Lessa Custom Decorating Limited to fulfil our obligations under any contract, the contract may be terminated on the grounds of frustration. Under the force majeure clause, Lessa Custom Decorating Limited will be excused from fulfilling a contract due to accidents, floods or natural disasters, terrorist activities, fires or epidemics.
Third Party Rights Clause
Lessa Custom Decorating Limited explicitly refuses third party rights and enforces the principle that only parties to the contract may enforce the terms of the contract. A third party to a contract is anyone who is not a party to it. Third parties may only enforce the term of a contract where:

Lessa Custom Decorating Limited will be under no obligation to provide compensation, refund, or repairs to any services or materials where any third party has been involved without explicit consent by Lessa Custom Decorating Limited.
